The Large Group Visit is designed for schools, daycares, community organizations, and youth programs bringing large groups of 8-30 students at one time to the STEAM Center.
This visit includes structured rotations, hands-on learning, and staff-led activities that ensure an organized and engaging experience for every participant. At this time, these experiences are free of charge.
Because the STEAM Center aims to remain accessible for both walk-in visitors and organized groups, any group with more than 30 participants will need to arrange a fee-based field trip.
Group Capacity
- We can accommodate up to 30 students per large group.
- For indoor activities, groups will be divided into two smaller groups of 15 students each.
- The playground can host all 30 students at once.
Activity Rotation
Each Large Group Guided Visit will begin with the playground as the first rotation. Each indoor activity lasts 30 minutes, after which the two groups will switch to the other activity. This rotation helps manage space, ensures access to materials, and provides a smooth flow through the center.
Staff Support
To help your visit run smoothly:
- 1 STEAM Center staff member will be assigned to each indoor activity.
- Staff will be available to explain activity directions, distribute supplies, and support cleanup.
- Supervising adults from your organization must remain with students at all times and support students in the completion of each activity.
Daily Maximum Capacity
With this rotation model, the STEAM Center is able to accommodate up to 120 students per day across multiple scheduled groups.

- Digital Lab: Coding Pre-Reader Express or Minecraft Hour of Code
- Immersive Lab
June 15th – 19th Activities:

- Cooking: DIY Trailmix *allergens present*
June 22nd – 26th Activities:
- Digital Lab: Pixel Art
- Immersive Lab
June 29th – July 3rd Activities:
- Art: Paper Sculptures
- Robotics: Moon Rover or Sphero
July 6th – 10th Activities:
- Art: Yarn Art
- Immersive Lab
July 20th – 24th Activities:
- Art: Water Color Resist Painting
- Robotics: Indi Robots
July 27th – 31st Activities:
- Computer Activity: Chrome Music Lab
- Art: Cardboard Creations
August 3rd – 7th Activities:
- Robots: Moon Rover or Sphero
- Immersive Lab
To ensure a smooth and engaging experience, all large group activities must be reserved in advance with Emily Schmillen, our Programs & Outreach Coordinator, via the Large Group Visit Form. Large groups may reserve up to 4 times per week.
Making a reservation allows our team to:
- Prepare activity stations and materials for your group
- Assign STEAM Center staff to facilitate each activity
- Manage group rotations and prevent overcrowding
- Tailor activities to the appropriate age range and group size
