Groundbreaking - January 2025

The community celebrated the groundbreaking of the Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center for Excellence in January 2025.

Mayor Holmes mentioned the impact this center will have on Waco. From its location on the Brazos River to its state-of-the-art facilities, the STEAM Center is a testament to the City’s vision for a thriving, equitable, and forward-thinking community.

District One Councilperson Andrea Barefield, a longtime champion of this project, highlighted that the STEAM Center will be a place where every person, no matter their age or background, will have the chance to learn something new, ignite their creativity, and contribute to our city's shared success.
