Aquatic Science Club: The Aquatic Science Club is a 10-week after-school program created through a partnership with Baylor University’s Center for Reservoir and Aquatic Systems Research (CRASR). Hosted at the Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center, the club invites 4th–6th grade students to dive into fun, hands-on STEM activities that spark curiosity, build problem-solving skills, and encourage creativity.

Hydroponics Gardening: The Hydroponics Gardening Club, offered in partnership with the National Women in Agriculture Association (NWIAA), introduces students to the exciting world of gardening through a STEM lens. Students in grades 2–5 will explore the science and technology of hydroponics—growing plants without soil—while also learning the basics of gardening, sustainability, and healthy living. The club will meet once a week and provide fun, hands-on activities that connect science, engineering, and agriculture in a creative way.

Beginning Photography Series: This weekly program gives students in grades 3–8 the opportunity to explore photography with guidance from a professional photographer. Participants will learn the basics of digital photography, including how to use a camera, compose a shot, and tell stories through images. Students may bring their own digital camera or use one provided by the Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center. With hands-on practice and creative projects, this program is designed to spark curiosity, build technical skills, and encourage artistic expression.

Scratch Computer Coding: This weekly program introduces students in grades 1–3 to the exciting world of computer coding using Scratch, a fun and beginner-friendly programming platform. Through interactive projects, students will learn how to create animations, stories, and simple games while building problem-solving and logical thinking skills. No prior experience is required—just imagination and curiosity!

Minecraft Engineering (Advanced): This weekly program for grades 4–8 lets students explore advanced building and engineering in Minecraft. Participants learn about different building styles, electricity, circuits, and simple machines while creating Redstone contraptions and designing structures from gardens to castles. Perfect for intermediate to advanced players, this program combines creativity, problem-solving, and STEAM learning in a fun, hands-on way.

Lego Spike Essentials: LEGO Spike Essentials is a 12-week course where students in grades 3-5 progressively build their skills in LEGO engineering and coding. Participants explore hands-on projects that combine mechanical design, programming, and problem-solving, learning how to build moving robots and program them to complete tasks. This course emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, and STEAM skills, providing a fun and engaging introduction to robotics and computational thinking.

Adventurers Lego Science: Adventurers LEGO Science is a 12-week weekly course for students in grades 3–5. Using new LEGO science blocks and curriculum, participants explore a variety of science phenomena while building, coding, and programming robots. This hands-on program combines creativity, problem-solving, and STEAM learning, giving students a fun and interactive way to discover science through LEGO.

Early Explorers Lego Science: Early Explorers LEGO Science is a 12-week weekly course for students in grades K–2. Using LEGO science blocks, participants explore basic science concepts through building, coding, and simple robotics activities. This hands-on program encourages creativity, problem-solving, and early STEAM skills, giving young learners a fun and interactive introduction to science through LEGO.

Kids in the Kitchen: In partnership with McLennan County AgriLife, Kids in the Kitchen is a hands-on program that teaches children kitchen safety, healthy eating, and how to prepare nutritious foods. Participants also learn the importance of developing lifelong healthy habits while having fun exploring food and cooking.

Fueling Families: In partnership with McLennan County AgriLife, Fueling Families is a hands-on family event where participants explore how cooking and eating together can boost health and happiness. Families learn to plan and prepare balanced meals and discover easy ways to involve children in the kitchen.

Kids Grilling Class: In partnership with McLennan County AgriLife, the Kids Grilling Class is a 2-day event for students in grades 4–8. Participants learn meat preparation, fire safety, and grilling techniques, gaining hands-on experience while developing confidence and practical cooking skills.

STEM Cooking Club: STEM Cooking Club is a 12-week program for students in grades 3–5 that combines cooking with STEM. Participants explore the science behind food and cooking, conducting hands-on experiments in the kitchen while learning about chemistry, physics, and nutrition in a fun, interactive way.

Learn, Grow, Eat & Go: Learn, Grow, Eat & Go! is a 6-week interdisciplinary, research-based course rom the Junior Master Gardener® Program that integrates gardening, nutrition, and physical activity to promote academic achievement, healthy eating habits, and physical activity among children and families. Through hands-on activities, students learn about plant science, develop gardening skills, and explore nutrient-dense foods, all while engaging in physical activity and fostering family and school involvement to cultivate lifelong wellness skills.

Dash Robot Coding: This 12-week course for grades 2–5 introduces students to the essentials of coding with Dash robots. Participants begin with basic commands and gradually progress to more advanced programming techniques, gaining skills in problem-solving, sequencing, and computational thinking through fun, hands-on activities.

The Science of Superheroes: This 12-week course for grades 1–3 explores the science behind superhero powers! Students use engineering, biology, and technology concepts to investigate the abilities of famous superheroes through hands-on projects and activities. The program also highlights real-life heroes in the community. Students collaborate to identify role models who give back and make a difference, learning how heroism extends beyond comics into everyday life.

Basic Sewing for Students: This workshop introduces students in grades 3-6 to the fundamentals of sewing. Participants learn basic stitches, techniques, and simple project construction, gaining practical skills while expressing creativity and building confidence through fun, guided activities.

3D Printing for Elementary Students: This 12-week course for grades 2–5 introduces students to 3D design and printing using MakersEmpire software. Participants learn how to turn their ideas into digital models and bring them to life with a 3D printer, developing creativity, problem-solving, and design skills along the way.
